We also invited fans of the brand to help select songs that would feature on the new album. Forever Friends fans helped to select tracks by choosing their favourite songs and artists. With music from great artists such as Michael Buble, Westlife, Rihanna, Will Young, Olly Murs, James Morrison and Abba as well as classic, lyrical songs such as “You’ve Got A Friend”, “Just The Two Of Us” and “I’ll Stand By You”, this year’s Forever Friend’s album is stronger than ever.

The Best of Both Worlds is a greatest hits album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 2004. The title references both their song of the same name, and the fact that the album has songs from their two main vocalists David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. The album featured three new songs from the band with Hagar on vocals, but Eddie Van Halen took over the bass work typically done by Michael Anthony. It featured no songs from the band's last studio album, Van Halen III, which featured Gary Cherone on vocals released in 1998.

he album features 16 songs from the Roth era (1978–1985), 17 from Hagar's recordings (1985–1996), plus three new Hagar songs. Roth was the vocalist for the first six albums, Hagar for the following four. The band's sales success was greater earlier, with combined US sales of 38 million for Roth era albums, while US sales for Hagar-era albums total 16 million (but, all four albums with Hagar went to #1, a feat never achieved with Roth). The album was released in promotion of the new reunion tour featuring Hagar back as lead singer. The three new songs were also performed live at various times.

Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of the UK band's 1984 album includes a bonus disc of remixes, some of which are previously unreleased. The most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel crafted a series of memorable hit albums and singles featuring their choirboy harmonies, ringing acoustic and electric guitars, and Simon's acute, finely wrought songwriting. The pair always inhabited the more polished end of the folk-rock spectrum and was sometimes criticized for a certain collegiate sterility. Many also feel that Simon, as both a singer and songwriter, didn't truly blossom until he began his own hugely successful solo career in the 1970s. But the best of S&G's work can stand among Simon's best material, and the duo did progress musically over the course of their five albums, moving from basic folk-rock productions into Latin rhythms and gospel-influenced arrangements that foreshadowed Simon's eclecticism on his solo albums.

In typical Fantasy Records aplomb, this four-CD set collects the eight albums which the Modern Jazz Quartet either mentored or collaborated on during their tenure at the commencement and nadir of their reign as jazz's premier chamber ensemble. Beginning with the 1952 issue of Modern Jazz Quartet/Milt Jackson Quintet recording (the earlier Milt Jackson Quartet sides are not here for obvious reasons, as the band did not commence its fully developed form on them) featuring original drummer Kenny Clarke before Connie Kay replaced him, and ending with This One's For Basie in 1985; the association the MJQ had with Prestige was a monumental one.

Recording Notes
In 2005 Toontrack® Music was contacted by Pat Thrall with a request to record drums for the Superior Drummer® software engine at the New York studio where Pat had his professional home at the time. We all knew Pats work (with Glenn Hughes, Black Crowes etc) and jumped at the opportunity to work with one of our heroes. Matters weren´t made worse by the fact that Pat introduced another long time hero of ours to add his talents, passion and experience to the recordings, Neil Dorfsman. Neil has been around since the 70s recording and producing artists like, Kiss (oh the stories), Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Sting etc. Enough said?

Pat also brought along renowned live and session drummer Nir Z whose credits include such diverse acts as Genesis and Joss Stone to play his GMS drums for the sessions.

The team was finalized with Mattias Eklund and Henrik Kjellberg from Toontrack® Music and together they conducted a number of recordings during 2005. The sounds for EZdrummer® were recorded and produced at Avatar Studios New York (formerly known as Power Station) on the 1st of October 2005 by Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z. Needless to say the recordings ended up every bit as great (and better) as expected. The timeless quality of the sound, the consistency of the playing and recording and the legendary atmosphere from a studio that has seen many of the greats create their masterpieces within its walls all make for a worthy start of the next generation of Toontrack® acoustic drum samplers.
